Whenever doubt tried to convince me that I wasn’t enough for what was ahead, I would come back to those words:
Good evening Pastor.
During today’s message, when you spoke about “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” I couldn’t help but reflect on my own journey because that scripture has been a major part of my life for many years and now my family.
It takes me back to the very beginning of my career.
At that time, I was seeing possibilities that were far beyond my current reality. I had dreams, ambitions, and a deep conviction that there was more ahead of me, but when I looked at myself, I couldn’t always see how those things would become reality.
There were skills I didn’t have yet, opportunities I hadn’t found, and challenges that seemed bigger than my experience and capacity.
Through that season, this scripture became my anchor.
Whenever I felt overwhelmed by the size of the vision in front of me, I would recite it.
Whenever I encountered obstacles that seemed impossible, I would recite it.
Whenever doubt tried to convince me that I wasn’t enough for what was ahead, I would come back to those words:
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Over the years, I have watched God turn many things that once looked impossible into reality.
I have walked into opportunities I never thought I would have.
I have developed skills I once admired from a distance.
I have overcome challenges that seemed far beyond my ability at the time.
Looking back now, I realize that God was not only opening doors. He was building capacity. He was teaching me to depend on His strength rather than my own understanding of what was possible.
That scripture has never been just words to me. It has been a lived experience and a pillar.
Today, when I face new challenges, I still return to that same foundation because my testimony is that God’s strength is real. I have seen Him make a way where I couldn’t see one. I have seen Him grow me into things I once felt unqualified for.
So as you preached today, I found myself thanking God because I can look back and honestly say that I have experienced the reality of that scripture in my own life.
Thank you, Pastor, for the timely reminder and for allowing God to use you to strengthen our faith.
God bless you, sir.
